Brazil Estevão Douro Acauã
In the highlands of Espírito Santo lies the small town of Marechal Floriano, where Estevão Douro and his family produce coffee on the land where their ancestors first settled after immigrating from Italy to start anew in Brazil. In recent years, with the support of his sons, Denizar and Thiago, Estevão has revitalized the farm by planting new coffee varieties and investing in infrastructure to improve and refine their on-farm processing techniques. This transformation has not only elevated the reputation of their coffee on the international market, but the Douros also offer their own roasted coffee locally.
The farm is home to Acauã, Arara, Catuaí, and Catucaí cultivars, with tomato plants and avocado trees growing alongside them. This particular lot is a selection of Acauã, a hybrid cultivar that has gained popularity in Brazil due to its disease resistance and ability to produce exceptional cup quality. It was sourced from our partners at Osito, who work diligently to discover unique lots from some of Brazil’s best smallholder farmers.
